Hey! Where I'm from, we don't actually celebrate Halloween. We do have a similar holiday though. In The Netherlands we celebrate Saint Martin on the 11th of November. On the evening of November 11th, children carry lanterns and go from door to door singing Saint Martin Songs in exchange for candy or fruit.  I can't wait till my son is old enough to go!   I did make this rather cute Halloween card for our challenge over at AAA Cards Challenge blog .  Hi everyone, This challenge at AAA Cards Challenge Blog is right up my alley. As a kidney transplant patient (recipient) I know how much of a difference a card can make when you're not well. Fortunately, the kidney I received from my dad is going strong for ten years now! So I haven't been ill much the past ten years.  The stamp I used is from Lawn Fawn. Hey there, holiday hobbyist! This challenge I decided to make a sunny holidays card in the shape of... a postcard!  Hi everyone! I got a new set with stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn!!! AND I AM SO EXCITED! It's called "Toucan do it" and it features a lot of amazing animals and funny sentiments. I got them at Hobby Resort .  With the sketch challenge I used my new set of stamps and dies (duh) and Distress Ink.  I made this card for my brother, who was almost graduating college (or for our Dutchies: HBO).  Hi everyone! For this challenge I decided to go for a lovely girly card. Is it summer-ish? The most important thing is, it is CAS! Clean And Simple! The stamp with coordinating dies is from Studio Light, I think. I used distress ink (kitsch flamingo) for the background. The sentiment is from Marianne Design.  Hi everyone! This was a tough sketch challenge! As I mentioned before in my post of AAA Cards Challenge #266 I do not have a lot of stencils. And guess what... A stencil would have come in handy AGAIN this challenge! So what did I do? Did I buy a stencil. Nooooo. I got creative! I took some of my alcohol markers, looked for a color palette on pinterest and started doodling. The colours were way too dark, so I was about to throw out the card panel, until I turned it around. What you see on the card is actually THE BACK of my card panel. Oh well... I can't wait to see how you interpret the sketch!  Hi everyone!  Here I am -again- with a masculine card! But this time it was the optional twist, sooo.... I used low tech tape to shield the card, except the bottom part. I have a stamp set with cars and tools. I used one tool stamp to create the bottom pattern.  The circle stamp and matching dies are from Studio Light ( CCL-ES-CD731 and  CCL-ES-STAMP563). I placed the sentiment where it is, because that's where I smudged some ink with my fingers, ahem. What kind of CAS card will you make?  This challenge at AAA Cards Challenge called for a large, unicolor stamp or a stencil with larger shapes. I. Have. Neither. So I created my own stencil, using a die and broad low tech tape! I used the plain leaf from the Altenew Mix Leaf Die Set and used it as my "stencil" shape. The sentiment is Frisian, it means both "a flower" and "a bouquet". I stamped it sideways to make it look like a flower stem. Here you can see our sketch for this fortnight, how will you make this work? Let's see!  Liefs, Marlies

 Yay! Another sketch challenge at AAA Cards Challenge Blog ! I didn't really feel like creating my own wreath from scratch, so I decided to go the lazy way. The best thing about this clever design, if I do say so myself, is that I didn't have to colour the entire stamp, just the edges. I used alcohol markers and it was a lot of fun! The stamp is in Dutch and it means: "is it your birthday again?". The stamps I used:  Clear stamps Party buttons - Essentials nr. 563.  Are you married or are you sensible? I love my husband so much, I would totally catch a bullet for him (and complain about te pain later). But man, aren't men weird?! They like sports like boxing and cycling and that just does not make any sense. And they believe women make no sense. I don't get it!  My husband is a fine specimen by the way. He is rather tall and helps around the house. He can fix almost everything, even though it might take a year or four. He is a great dad and an amazing spouse. Yeah. I won the husband lottery. We're married two years this year, but we've known each other for eleven years now. We met in a bar, on the dancefloor and dated for a bit then. He didn't want anything serious at the time but "wanted to stay friends". I told him "I've got plenty of friends" and we went our separate ways. Hi everyone! I'm gonna be honest, this was a tough one. I simply had TOO MANY IDEAS. My best friend thinks I have ADHD or that I'm neurodivergent at least. I have no idea, but reels on instagram agree with her.  Anyways, back to my card!  This is my interpretation of today's sketch. I just bought the leaf mix die set from altenew. It was an absolute a*****e to find, but I managed to buy it from a webshop in Belgium: Card Nouveau . The sentiment is in Dutch and means: "I am thinking of you".  SPRING! I longed for it. I still do, because where I live autumn takes up about 3/4 of the year... The thing I love most about spring are probably all te baby animals that are born this time of year. For this challenge I used these lovely stamps from Heffy Doodle, alcohol markers and distress ink.  I really like to make masculine cards, because I discovered a big secret a few years ago: men love handmade cards. It's not even about the general look of a card, they simply really appreciate the effort. In my experience, even generally grumpy men will enjoy receiving a handmade card. For this AAA Cards Challenge I decided to make a masculine card with our sketch. As you can see, I "mirrored" the sketch to make this card.   Yay! I really enjoy sketch challenges. Do you know why? I think it's amazing to see how many different ways there are to interpret a sketch. The colours I used are: kitsch flamingo, abandoned coral and spiced marmalade. The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn, which I love very much!  Do you have a valentine? I do: my dear husband. Every year we agree that we will not give each other presents for Valentine's Day, but guess what... EVERY YEAR, he gets me fancy chocolates! I love him so much. For this challenge you can make any card, as long as it's CAS (Clean And Simple). The optional twist is "Love is in the air" and I decided to go with that.  Are you used to writing 2024 in stead of 2023 yet? I am absolutely not! Fortunately, this card did not need a date.  For the sketch challenge you can use any shape(s) in any colour(s), just keep it CAS. Since A LOT of my friends are currently pregnant, I decided to make a "Welcome Little One" card.  For the background I used Distress Ink on clear stamps and I coloured the image of the cute little bear with alcohol markers.
